Last Post

The sounding of the Last Post is one of the most poignant moments of a service.  We pride ourselves on having professional and experienced musicians, who are fully conversant with the necessary ceremonial protocols, to provide you with a professional and dignified service.  Through our connections we are able to provide civilian Last Post Buglers and Trumpeters, as well as Police or Military Buglers in Full Ceremonial uniform.

Our musicians regularly perform the Last Post at Remembrance and military association services for the National Memorial Arboretum, Birmingham City Council, Premier League Football and Rugby Football Union fixtures, Derby City Council, The Royal British Legion and the Warwickshire Fusilier Association to name a few.

In addition to the Last Post, all our musicians are able to play other bugle calls if appropriate.

We will also liaise with all parities including Funeral Directors, Ministers and the Crematorium or Cemetery.

Standard Bearers

Our Standard Bearers add a further poignancy to the funeral of a loved one.

The standards will form a guard of honour on arrival for the funeral cortege, the standards will then enter the chapel and take post at the front.  They will stand throughout the service until the minister conducting the service asks the congregation to stand for the committal prayer.  After the committal the minister will ask the  congregation to remain standing for the act of remembrance to honour the named veteran for their military service.

The exhortation is recited with the response, “We will remember them”, then the “Last post” is sounded with the lowering of the standards in salute.  After one-minute Silence the standards are raised on the first note of “Reveille”.

At the start of any exit music the standard bearers will pay homage to the veteran then retire from the chapel to form a guard of honour at the exit door.
